Languedoc

Frankrig har i flere tusinde år været kendt som den største vinnation i verden.

Det skyldtes ikke mindst et perfekt klima til at dyrke vin og i lige så høj grad en dedikation igennem mange generationer til at forfine og forbedre produktionen af vin.

Vinbønderne i de 13 forskellige områder har produceret vin i mere end 2600 år, og det er langt fra tilfældigt, at de også er kendt for at lave verdens bedste vine.
Vine er dyrket ud fra traditioner og på de bedst mulige beliggenheder. Det gør, at man igennem lang tid har kunne producere topvine, uanset om man er til elegante Pinot Noir vine fra Bourgogne eller fuldmodne kraftige vine fra Rhône.
Franske vine har historisk set været vinland nummer ét i verden, men bagsiden af medaljen er, at priserne på fransk vin ofte er skruet i vejret. Det gælder især vin fra de tre nok bedste regioner, Bourgogne, Bordeaux og Rhône.

Et af de områder, der ikke har fuldt med i de vilde prisstigninger er Languedoc. Det er en af grundene til, at vi hos Vinuniverset.dk har flere vine fra Languedoc regionen, simpelthen fordi vi syntes man får mere for pengene!

Languedoc beskrives også flere steder som Frankrigs ”nye” vinscene – hvor dygtige producenter har gjort deres indryk med især kraftige og krydrede rødvine.
Det gør de typisk på blends af druerne Carignan, Grenache, Syrah og Merlot.

Disse druer bliver dyrket i et ofte barskt og dramatisk landskab fyldt med bakker, bjerge og dale ud imod Middelhavet. Derfor kan der også være meget stor forskel på vinene, alt efter om de er fra den vestlige- eller østlige, sydlige- eller nordlige del af Languedoc.
Efter vores mening giver det vine af høj kvalitet, der er produceret i mager jord, med et flot lokalt præg – og til en god pris.

Igennem de sidste 15 år har vinbønderne i disse områder, med både national såvel som EU støtte, tyndet gevaldigt ud i deres vinmarker – og faktisk nedsat produktionen.
Det betyder, at der bliver produceret mindre vin, men på vinmarker med bedre placering. En udvikling, der uden tvivl også har været med til at løfte renomméet for området.
Vi vil gerne slå et slag for Languedoc som område og indtil videre har vi samarbejde med 3 producenter fra Languedoc:

 

Domaine La Louviere: Et gammelt vinhus, med rødder helt tilbage til 1864, i Malepére regionen i det vestlige Languedoc. Huset har været i en rivende udvikling siden de nye ejere overtog det i 1992, og producerer i dag flere store vine. Flere af vinene er økologisk certificerede.

Chateau La Baronne: Økologisk vinhus i Corbières i det vestlige Languedoc. Grundlagt i 1957, som i dag kun producerer økologiske og biodynamiske vine.

Domaine Bassac: Økologisk vinhus placeret i Puisalicon i hjertet af Languedoc, imellem vest- og øst. Her producerer det lille hus lækre økologiske vine. Det er et mindre hus, og derfor har vi kun deres ”Le Manpot” vin.
